Thanksgiving Meals and a Bowlmor Holiday
Bowlmor Lanes opened up its doors to West Valley Community Services for Thanksgiving Day bowling and lunch.
Over the past year West Valley Community Services has seen about a 20 percent increase in its number of clients, and thanks to some generous donations and a partnership with Bowlmor Lanes, about 300 low income families were treated to a full Thanksgiving Day meal and free bowling.
Lanes and arcade games opened at 10 a.m. with lunch service at 11 a.m. Among the notable local celebrities serving the meal included the Silicon Valley Roller Girls, Assemblymember Paul Fong, newly-elected Cupertino City Councilmember Rod Sinks, and other Silicon Valley dignitaries.
My husband, Mike, and I dropped in to help serve for a while, too. Families took full advantage of the hip-looking lanes, some gathering as a group to encourage one another with each ball rolled.
Others were found in the arcade area where families played air hockey, video games and more.
Lunch included turkey, stuffing, yams, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, corn on the cob, cranberry sauce, dinner rolls, and desserts.
West Valley Community Services provides food and housing assistance to low income families in Cupertino, Los Gatos, Monte Sereno, Saratoga and West San Jose.

What a nice thing to do for people. Thanks for reporting about it. I would not have known about it otherwise. Liked the pictures too.

I agree with Edna. How generous of Bowlmor and those nice people to dedicate their holiday time.
