While many Americans will hit the stores in a shopping frenzy come Black Friday, at least one group will be saving instead of spending—and in a big way.

The Good Samaritan United Methodist Church is hosting a chance opportunity to play a life-size game of Monopoly that will benefit Habitat for Humanity Silicon Valley's construction project in Cupertino.

Eight teams of middle and high school students from Cupertino, Milpitas, and San Jose will begin the game at 9 a.m., and are continuing to seek sponsors from local companies until then. So far, businesses from Cupertino, Sunnyvale, San Jose, and Palo Alto businesses have signed up.

"We're very committed to the Habitat for Humanity project that's starting up in January," said spokesman Mark Teagle. "They're building four houses for the first time in the city of Cupertino."

Volunteers spent three months building the massive, masonite board—40 feet long and 20 feet wide—and crafting the wooden pieces. 

Nearly every piece is life-size, with even the money printed on legal-size paper.

The church expects around 100 spectators will watch the game, and invites the public to drop by.

Sponsors can choose to donate to a team on a per-minute basis. "That's a lot of minutes," Teagle said, noting that the game could go on for 12 hours.
