Plastic Bag Ban Study Session to be Held on Tuesday

The City wants residents to speak up on a possible ban on plastic bags and styrofoam in Cupertino.

The City of Cupertino will hold a study session on a and polystyrene foam food containers beginning at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Cupertino City Hall.

Several cities surrounding Cupertino have already instituted bans on single-use plastic bags. These bans directly effect Cupertino residents when they shop at stores such as Trader Joe’s on Bollinger, which is technically in San Jose, but sits on the border of the two cities.

Cupertino joined a group of 24 cities in Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties, which conducted an environmental impact report (EIR.)
