A Colorful Celebration of Roses

When roses in Silicon Valley are at their annual best, San Jose Heritage Rose Garden will hold its 16th anniversary celebration this Saturday with an admission-free fair to entertain visitors.

As this April has few showers, you don't have to wait until May to tour gardens for flowers.

It's time to visit one of the rose gardens near you, San Jose Heritage Rose Garden, which claims its roses to be at their annual best this time of year.

Indeed they are. As soon as you walk into the garden, breezes of sweet fragrance will refresh you; clusters of colorful blooms will delight you.

You will see abundant colors beyond the red, fuchsia, peach, Orlando pink, shell pink, canary yellow and white normally seen. There are less common hues such as coral and golden orange, as well as varigated shades.

Admission is free on any given day, also for this Saturday's 16th anniversary celebration, which will start with an Easter egg hunt, and continue with more than 40 vendors selling plants and garden art. as well as live music and line dancing lessons.
