Ashton Kutcher Opens MacWorld

Kutcher talks about following Steve Jobs' fruitarian diet and how it landed him in the hospital.

Actor Ashton Kutcher took the stage Thursday morning at the Macworld/iWorld conference in San Francisco.

Kutcher and fellow actor Josh Gad opened the convention by sharing their experiences of playing Apple co-founders Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak in the upcoming feature film "jOBS." Topics including Jobs' unusual dietary habits.

"For about a month, I only ate fruit and carrot juice," Kutcher said, trying to match the diet Jobs embraced at one point, according to a L.A. Times article.

Kutcher was doubled over in pain days before shooting began and was taken to the hospital, according to the article. Doctors eventually diagnosed pancreatitis.

Kutcher and Gad talked for about an hour about preparing for their respective roles in the movie that is set to be released in April.

The convention continues through Saturday at Moscone Center West at 800 Howard St.

Kutcher is also known for investing in various tech companies, including Spotify, Airbnb, Foursquare, Fab, Uber, Dwolla and Path, according to a bio provided by conference organizers.
