Cupertino Mayor Puttin' on the Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness

Mayor Mark Santoro looks good in pink flamingoes.

This photo cost me $10. As a taunt I posted this message on Cupertino Patch’s Facebook page: “OK, $10 out of my own pocket to anyone who can get Mayor Mark Santoro, wearing pink, out there with these ladies and send me a photo of it. Go Pink! —anne.”

Well, I’m ready to pay up, Alysa Sakkas! That’s her on the right in the attached photo.

Sakkas and her Never Give Up teammates who are training for three-day Walk for a Cure invited the world to join them in support of Breast Cancer Awareness month. They made a loop on Saturday stopping at all five Fremont Union High School District schools with an army of about 50 or so who joined them for all or part of the walk.

Santoro, with his pink flamingoes, was among the supporters. In reality I know Santoro would have been out there regardless of my taunt, but I like to think I was instrumental in getting him there. ;)

Who will don the pink next?
