Get Out in Cupertino: Shakespeare in the Park, the Goo Goo Dolls and More

The Goo Goo Dolls come to the Bay Area to rock out, the Farmer's Market keeps chugging along and Shakespeare in the Park continues this weekend at Memorial Park.

Where/When: , Stevens Creek Boulevard and Mary Avenue, Saturday, 7:30 p.m.

Why Go: Step into the world of yet another Shakespearean masterpiece with Cymbeline. Forbidden love, mistaken identities, banishment and a magic potion...Shakespeare combines multiple styles in this endlessly inventive fairy tale!

Where/When: Sears parking lot at Vallco Shopping Center, Friday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. 

Why Go: A weekly event, the outdoor market atmosphere only gets better in the summertime. Beat the afternoon heat and do some shopping through the wide array of vendors that sell everything from beets to fresh-cut flowers. 

Pricing: Free

Where/When: Blue Pheasant Restaurant, 22100 Stevens Creek Blvd. The event runs from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Why Go: West Valley Community Services presents Taste of Compassion hosted by Blue Pheasant Restaurant in Cupertino on Tuesday, August 23 and Wednesday, August 24. Half of the nights proceeds directly benefit services to prevent hunger and homelessness in Cupertino, Saratoga, Los Gatos, Monte Sereno and West San Jose. Enjoy a great meal, for a great cause!

Pricing: $24 in advance, $26 at the door. 

Where/When: 216 Main St #A, Los Altos, CA, Friday, 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. 

Why Go: This week's feature is "Swiss Family Robinson," the 1960 Disney classic tale about a family shipwrecked on a desert island. If you think the tree house at Disneyland is fun, the action-packed adventure film that inspired the park feature will surely keep you and the family entertained from start to finish.

Where/When: Saratoga Mountain Winery, 14831 Pierce Rd., Saratoga, CA. Concert begins at 7:30 on Sunday night. 

Why Go: The Goo Goo Dolls are one of those bands that just keep hanging around. A consistent rock and pop group that seems to find a way to land a major hit or two on the airwaves every time they release a new album. The popular trio comes to the Bay Area this weekend, joined by artists Michelle Branch and Parachute for an outdoor concert experience that will surely close out your weekend in style. 

Pricing: Ticket prices range from $35 to $85.
