Get Out in Cupertino: the Three-Day Cupertino Carnival is Here!

The Cupertino Carnival, an Art Lecture and the Farmer's Market.

Where/When: , 10120 N. De Anza Blvd. Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 5 p.m. start on Friday and 11 a.m. start on the weekend. 

Why Go: The Cupertino Carnival is a three-day festival featuring live music, entertainment, real amusement rides, jump houses/inflatables, games for kids of all ages, arts and crafts, karaoke, a wide variety of food and more. Don't miss the fall family fun this weekend!

Where/When: Manresa, 320 Village Lane, Los Gatos. Saturday and Sunday, 6 p.m. 

Why Go: Executive Chef David Kinch will choose more than 60 varieties of heirloom tomatoes from exclusive farm partner Love Apple Farms to feature in a “Tomato Modernista Dinner,” dedicated to the ingredient. Taking place Saturday, Oct. 1 and Sunday, Oct. 2, the eight-course dinner will feature a colorful, flavorful variety of tomatoes offered in different preparations and textures. The menu will include such varieties as Ludmilla’s Pink Heart, Boar’s Hoof, White Cherry, Gajo de Melon, Reba, White Oxheart, and Green Doctors.

Pricing: $170 per person

Where/When: Sears Parking Lot at Vallco Shopping Center, Friday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. 

Why Go: A weekly event, the outdoor market atmosphere only gets better in the fall. Beat the afternoon heat and do some shopping of the wide array of vendors that sell everything from beets to flowers.

Where/When: Casa de Fruta, 10031 Pacheco Pass Hwy, Hollister. Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. 

Why Go: Beware of pirates invading the village of Willingtown. Sir Francis Drake is looking for new crew members. Children 7 and under can meet the Queen and Captain Drake in the annual wee pirate costume contest at the Renaissance Faire in Casa de Fruta. The annual faire runs for the next three weekends. 

Pricing: $25

Where/When: , 10350 Torre Ave, Cupertino. Saturday, 11 a.m. 

Why Go: Take a journey back in time and imagine yourself in Renaissance Florence and Venice, participating in the sights and sounds of everyday life, viewing contemporary works of art by Da Vinci, Botticelli, and Raphael. The weekend lecture will be conducted by docent Kay Payne.
