Guess Where I Was When I Took This Photo?

Think you know Cupertino? Prove it. Tell us where I was standing when I took this photo.

So you think you know Cupertino, eh? Well I triple-dog-dare you to tell me where I was standing when I took this photo.

This weekly column is a guessing game designed for the great detectives of Cupertino, of which I've learned there are many.

I don't know why I'm taking it easy on you this week, but I am. This one should be fairly easy.  But then again, I thought an image of a painted wood schoolhouse was easy, too. (Editor's note: that's just my little dig on David Fung, the super sleuth who can't figure out where that little red schoolhouse is.)

Happy guessing!

Is that the fountain at Merlion Restaurant?

That's a really good guess Valerie, but it's not at the Merlion.

OK folks, a little help here. A close look at the photo tells us the fountain is at an intersection along Stevens Creek Blvd blue street sign at top of photo). It is not the one at SC & Blaney and also has a short multicolored brick wall with a sitting cap along it. And, the white light fixtures on the building in the back of the shot are distinctive. Come on, someone knows this fountain. Don't let Anne feel like she got one on us.

It's behind the newly opened trio of stores (Boudin, Philz, Freebirds) at Cupertino Crossroads, across the way from Footwear Etc, and looking across Stevens Creek Blvd to the Baja Fresh on Bandley. Remarkable angle by Ann to avoid the traffic lights!

Alex B, you are correct! I did try to avoid the traffic lights, but Bob M was able to see some of the street sign in the image. Of course, Bob M has been known to stalk me in town while I take these photos so who knows how he really saw the street sign. ;)

@Anne, well played. =)
