Meeting on Future of Rancho San Antonio Model Plane Area

A flood control project is expected to affect the model plane use at the Rancho San Antonio's south meadow.

Do you use the model plane area in the South Meadow of Rancho San Antonio? The Open Space District urges users to attend a public meeting on Monday, June 25 at 6 p.m. in the in Cupertino.

The meeting is scheduled to discuss the impact of a flood control project in Rancho San Antonio. The notice of the meeting did not provide more information other than to invite the public to join staff of the Midepeninsula Regional Open Space District and Santa Clara County Parks and Recreation Department to discuss model airplane operation at Rancho San Antonio County Park. The meeting agenda is attached to this article as a pdf.

A previous meeting, however, mentioned moving the parking lot 75 feet to the north, which would affect the model plane area. That meeting had been convened by the Santa Clara Valley Water District in October 2010 at the Los Altos Recreation Department's Hillview Center, and those notes are also attached.
