All Lanes Reopen Following Major Injury Crash on Highway 85

Traffic was backed up for miles following the crash.

5:10 p.m. Update:
All northbound lanes have reopened. Traffic slows from 65 to 35 mph through the impacted area, but the backup is quickly dissipating.

4:35 p.m. Update:
Two northbound lanes have reopened. The right lane remains blocked. 

4:25 p.m. Update:

One person suffered major injuries and was rushed to the hospital following a two vehicle crash on Highway 85 in Cupertino Monday afternoon.

All lanes are blocked, with traffic squeezing past on the shoulder.

Traffic is stop-and-go. It's taking motorists at least 30 minutes to get past the crash.

Southbound traffic is also impacted, with traffic backed up.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) does not have an estimate of when all lanes will reopen.

With the afternoon commute just getting underway, taking an alternate route is recommended.
