De Anza Flea Market, Saturday, Jan. 7, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Fleas for sale at De Anza? Possibly, but there’s a whole lot more on sale at a flea market. And, did you know that the De Anza Flea Market is still a student enterprise with the De Anza Associated Student Body? And that the group gains about $300,000 toward other programs and services at De Anza College? That’s all thanks to the shoppers and about 825 vendors.

Give Back to Cupertino Through Committee Service; Deadline Jan. 11, 5:30 p.m.

Opportunities are available to serve on committees such as audit committee (two vacancies), housing commission (two vacancies), parks and recreation commission (two vacancies), public safety commission (three vacancies), and technology, information and communications commission (two vacancies.) Applications must be turned in to the city by 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 11. The City Council will begin interviews at 6 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, Jan. 23 and 24.

Being Crabby is Good…at Least on Jan. 13, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Cupertino Rotary’s 17th Annual Crab Feed

The people there aren’t crabby, but the food sure is, and there’s plenty of it, too. Tickets are $40—half of which is tax deductible—but the friendly atmosphere is free. The annual event is held at St. Joseph's, 10110 N. De Anza Blvd.
