Tickets are Still For Sale For Octagon Club's Cure Cancer Cafe Dinner on Saturday

Monta Vista High School is helping to raise money, and hopefully find donors, for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in honor of Jack Chin

Monta Vista High School Octagon club’s largest event of the year is Cure Cancer Café, which annually raises more than $10,000 each year for Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, and Saturday’s event has an even deeper connection than in years past

“This year is actually our 12th consecutive year of holding this event and it holds special meaning to us because Jack Chin is a Monta Vista Alumni of 2007 diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Lymphoma, so his situation is very close to our cause,” said student organizer Elise Chen.

The event will be held in the food court at Vallco Mall beginning at 6 p.m. March 24, and $20 tickets can be purchased at the door for an Italian dinner from Pasta Market, student and professional performances and a silent auction. A bone marrow donor registration table will be available for those who would like to register with the bone marrow donor programs working to help Chin find a match.
