Where Was I When I Took This Photo?

This Patch editor's weekly attempt to stump those who know Cupertino best.

How well do you know Cupertino? Can you tell me where I was standing when I snapped this photo?

In the past couple of weeks a handful of readers were quick to identify precisely where I was standing and what the image was. One reader (that would be you, Bob M) even guessed that I took a couple of the photos while running errands.

Well, I don't give up easily. I was not running an errand when I took this week's photo, and I was not standing anywhere on De Anza or Stevens Creek Boulevards.

Your turn. Guess where I was standing!

Anne, congrats you have stepped up your game. I do not recognize it right off but between doing some inside painting (bathroom) and running my own errands today, I will keep my eyes peeled for the fairly new construction light gray townhouses/apts with dark tile roofs and wrought iron trim (cannot be too many of these in Cupertino). Once found, it is a simple matter of finding that streetlight in the shot with the number on it to find the exact location you were standing. (just trying to help my fellow readers/lookers out)

Anne -
Good try... but I think you're on Park Green Drive looking at that condo or townhouse building between the Amici's building and City Hall. It's kind of by the little elliptical patch of grass where somebody is always trying to drive into me. If I'm right, you can add this to my pile of Patch bags, right? :-) David Fung

David, right housing development, wrong location.
Anne, you are standing across Torre Ave on the sidewalk in front of The Coffee Society @ the Library shooting the unit on the corner. The streetlight is #30548 and the car was probably parked on the library side or moving. Hope you enjoyed a coffee or tea and a good read. =)

ooo, some sleuths are out there! you guys should do this for a living, really, based on your keen observations. i can't say for sure where this is at myself, Anne will have to reveal the truth, but it's fun seeing you guys crack this :)

Bob M...WOW! You are right. David was close but not as nearly on point as you. I think you must be following me around town.

Anne, that reminds me, your left brake light is out. Just kidding. =) Actually, I use observation and memory for part of it, and Google Maps (street view) for the final view. From there it is just deduction from the shot angle and distance. I enjoy the challenge, did Geocaching for years.

Bob M: HAHAHAHA! From now on I'm calling you Columbo.

Just FYI David...no prizes for this one, but I do still owe you a Patch bag for your correct guess on the Where's This game. (do you want to meet for coffee to get it, or shall I mail it to you?)

I would be honored, rumpled raincoat and all.
