49er Flair Comes to Santana Row's 5th Annual Summer Fashion Show

San Francisco 49er Vernon Davis brings thunderous applause on the catwalk—along the pool

To thunderous cheers, Vernon Davis, the 49ers' star tight end, posed in a Franco Uomo gray dinner suit with a turquoise bow tie at the fifth annual Summer Fashion Show at Santana Row on Saturday. The guest appearance brought smiles,  cheers and applause.

The poolside fashion show featured new summer arrivals at Santana Row, reflecting this year's summer trends including fringes, high-low hems, and skinny cropped pants. In the meantime, many of the outfits were taking the popular stripes trend of this spring into summer.

Most notably, every evening-wear model at the show donned a headpiece, indicating that the fancy-headband trend recently brought by the surprise hit, "The Great Gatsby" will continue going strong this summer.

Among the summery styles, some knee-length shorts were matched with suit jackets and ties in the "Smooth Operator" collection of Eli Thomas for Men.

Saturday's summer fashion show presented a total of 19 collections from Santana Row stores. Santana Row has scheduled its fall fashion show for Sept 14.

Fifty percent of the show's revenue will go to the Vernon Davis Foundation for the Arts, which provides art education for underprivileged youth, according to the marketing staff of Santana Row.
