Year of the Snake Welcomed by Chinese Schools, Community

Community members learned about Lunar New Year's customs at a free event hosted by the Association of Northern California Chinese Schools (ANCCS) and the Taiwan Benevolent Association of San Jose.

Children learned how to make toy snakes. Adults watched calligraphers write Chinese New Year's couplets. Posters about the Year of the Snake were on display.

It was a free cultural event at the South Bay Chinese Culture Center on Feb 3, hosted by the Association of Northern California Chinese Schools (ANCCS) and the Taiwan Benevolent Association of San Jose.

Patch was there to capture some of the festive activities. Here is a photo gallery with captions, including a video recording of an origami lesson.
