CONTEST: Win Chance to Learn from Cheryl Burke

The two-time Dancing With the Stars champion and 2012 finalist visits her Mountain View studio on Friday, July 13.

'One, two, cha cha cha!'

Imagine the person saying that is Cheryl Burke, at her dance studio—and she's telling this to you!

Well, here's your chance to win the opportunity to take a group dance class with two-time Dancing With the Stars champion Cheryl Burke this Friday, July 13 at the studio in Mountain View.

Here's what you could win:

  • Free admission for two people (or a couple) to all Friday Night Dance Lessons and the dance party at Cheryl Burke Dance Mountain View on Friday, July 13. Cheryl will be there to teach a Cha Cha class at 7:35 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. This will be one of three "For Beginners Only" classes between 7:15 and 9:00 p.m. In addition to the "Beginners Only" classes, other lessons offered before the party—and covered by the free admission—include West Coast Swing, Argentine Tango, and Salsa. A dance party starts at 9:00 p.m. and goes until 1 a.m.
  • One Cheryl Burke Dance "Party Pass." This pass is good for any one of the dance party nights—any Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday—and any of the drop-in dance classes that are taught immediately before dance parties on Friday, Saturday or Sunday nights. Often Fridays and Saturdays are more popular nights, but certain classes offered on the other nights might also appeal to whoever wins. (Special event nights — such as fundraisers, private celebrations, holiday parties, showcase performances or team matches—are excluded, however. Check studio schedule at cherylburkedance.com and check the newsletter for updates and event information.)

This prize gives the winner more than 10 hours of "floor time" in the 14,000 plus sq. ft. dance studio, where there's a wide range of classes on each night to choose from.

Here's how to be eligible to win:

It's difficult to know what's going on in a kid's mind unless they feel confident enough to open upRead More and talk. And this program helps us adults to learn to listen differently.

I too was at this Challenge Day. It was my 6th. I first volunteered because I watched the programRead More on MTV "If You Really Knew Me" when my son was being severely bullied in middle school and saw the program was offered when he was a freshman in high school. My company strongly supports me volunteering for this and allows me to take the day off work to attend. I am continually humbled by what these teens share and saddened at what some of them have experienced in their short lives. This program is so valuable. I think every school should offer it and every parent should attend. It helps us to realize that we need to think twice before we judge or assume things about others when we know nothing about them. It is the volunteering opportunity that I look forward to participating in every year.
