SNAPSHOTS: Cupertino Symphonic Performs Holiday Concert

Cupertino ensemble performs holiday favorites at Quinlan Center Sunday afternoon in free concert.

Over 100 people packed into the Quinlan Center in Cupertino Sunday afternoon to hear a number of holiday favorites in the Winter Holiday Concert by the Cupertino Symphonic Band.

The 90-minute concert led by conductor Tom Narcisso included hits like "The Twelve Days of Christmas" and "Sleigh Ride," and was free to the community. 

Sunnyvale couple Norine Krueger and Al Caso, who were attending their first Holiday Concert by the Cupertino ensemble and came out to the Quinlan Center Sunday afternoon after some friends recommended that they check it out.

"I thought it was very festive and fun," Krueger said. "A couple of friends of ours have talked about and had been here before."

Caso said he enjoyed the selection of songs performed by the group.

"I liked the arrangements, they put some funs things in there," he said. "It wasn't too long or too short, it was a very enjoyable afternoon."

The Cupertino Symphonic Band is a non-profit group with over 50 members. It originally started when a group of alumni from Cupertino High School band came together to form a band to surprise longtime music teacher Bob Gomez for his 25th Anniversary.
