SJ State Freshman Headline Music Act at the Brit Saturday Night

Trevor Snow, a mostly self-trained musician, will be performing a selection of songs Saturday at 6:30 p.m. at Britannia Arms.

Local alternative rock musician Trevor Snow will be  March 3 at 6:30 p.m. at Britannia Arms in Cupertino (1087 South De Anza Boulevard).

Self-trained on the bass and drums, the San Jose State freshman spends several hours every day practicing and composing his own melodic songs, most which he self-publishes online through his Facebook page and Reverbnation profile.

Snow, who has been playing for the past eight years, deems his Brit stint a “rare appearance” since he has only played a couple shows before. In the future, he said, he hopes to play in a band, and make a career out of music.

Now a music major, Snow also plays the keyboard and sings, and is influenced by groups such as Muse, Blink 182, and The Killers. The latter inspired him to compose his favorite song, Killing Kind.

How does he hone his craft? “There’s no magical formula,” said Snow. “It’s very important to practice everyday so that you know your instrument.”

Tickets to see Snow perform are $7 and available in advance online.
