Cupertino Lunch Deals was designed to leverage the large number of people who work and live in Cupertino, who are interested in finding great discounted lunch selections.

Restaurants typically don’t have an on-demand way to reach potential customers. So we came up with a way for everyone to win, which allows restaurants to easily offer specials to potential customers who are hungry (pun intended!) for great lunch deals. This is a great way for restaurants to introduce themselves to new customers, who are potential repeat customers!

Unlike other deal sites like Groupon or Living Social, this is a completely free service for restaurants, with no upfront costs. All they have to do is provide a weekly exclusive special, and we’ll send it out to our growing list of local subscribers. We want this service to be free, so restaurants can afford to offer great specials, including passing along the savings to customers.  Even restaurants that are really busy can benefit by offering early-bird specials, or take-out only specials.  If restaurants are happy with our service, we will offer more tailored, premium services, which will further help target even more customers.

I came up with this idea while operating my online store, Pre-K Shop  which offers merchandise for preschool children. Through the online shop, I learned a great deal about effective online marketing.  While it is pretty standard to collect customer emails and utilize this list to promote specials, it is not as common in most brick-and-mortar businesses.  So, I decided to build a system that is friendly to local restaurants, and we hope to help them further succeed with new and existing local customers, who are connected online.

Personally, I love thinking about how to connect people with what they need, which is a very important part of owning a business.
