Coffee Walla Will Deliver Fresh Coffee to Your Door

Newly launched business started by Lynbrook graduate will keep you alert with hot brews from local coffee shops.

It’s mid-afternoon, grey and pouring rain outside. A soy latte from Bitter+Sweet sure would be a good pick-me-up, but who wants to venture out in the cold and wet? Coffee Walla does—for a fee, of course.

Parth Dhebar, an enterprising Cupertino teen and San Jose State student, is the owner of Coffee Walla, an online service created for Cupertino businesses and residents who want freshly brewed coffee delivered to their door.

The name is inspired by his culture and birthplace, Dhebar says.

“I’m from Bombay, India, where it has the dabba walla system. It’s the world’s most sophisticated lunch delivery system,” the Lynbrook High School grad says.

He started the business at San Jose State when he would pick up and deliver coffee to fellow students who couldn't, or didn't want, to leave their classroom or study area.

During days and times he is not in school (his website provides the times) Cupertino will see the Coffee Walla traveling around town with steam filling the inside of his car windows thanks to the hot coffee in his transport. He doesn’t have a heating element set up in his vehicle, but “that’s in the works.”

Customized solutions for customers are his specialty, he says, and he's in negotiations with a couple of local banks to set up regular deliveries.

Not necessarily in the spirit of Cyber Monday but more in a start-up frame of mind, Coffee Walla is offering a one-week free deal, based on those customized solutions.

He’ll pick up and deliver coffee from any coffee shop in town but says in order to guarantee the freshness of the coffee the shop needs to be in close proximity to the delivery location.

Offices in Cupertino that want a gallon of coffee delivered every day can expect to pay around $99 for a week, he says, and that includes all the condiments.

A “huge coffee drinker” himself he has the Starbucks menu memorized, which considering his 6 a.m. rise time each day and back to bed after 1 or 2 a.m. each day is no wonder.

Between work (he’s also an Apple blogger) and school he doesn’t really have any free time. But being an entrepreneur is something the 18-year-old who is studying business management has been at it for a while.

Correction: the original version of this article incorrectly spelled the lunch delivery system in India. It is called dabba walla. We apologize for any confusion.
