Fans and Gamer Advocates Turn Out for Apple's Big Event

The 'Let's Talk iPhone' event was an invitation only, but curious fans wanted to see what they could see from the sidewalk.

It was the much-talked-about event of the season Tuesday at Apple's Cupertino headquarters, but for those who weren't invited in to "" the party still brought out Apple fans and advocates, too.

"I just love Apple products," gushed Cupertino neighbor Geoff Paulsen, who walked his dog Wolo over to Infinite Loop to check out the hubbub of the day.

"I bought my first Mac, the Fat Mac, in 1984," he says. And he's been buying all kinds of Apple products since.

"I worked for the county for years and when we went to PCs it was a sad day," he says.

Paulsen may have wandered from an adjoining neighborhood to check out the activity surrounding the news event of the release of the iPhone 4S, but others came from farther away and for slightly different reasons.

Priyanka Sharma (not the Patch employee of the same name) of iSwifter, which is based in Menlo Park, and a group of co-workers and friends came to support Apple and it's new launch, and give a gentle nudge to push the company to making more games available on its products.

"We love Apple and we are big Facebook fans. This was a friendly rally," she said. "We represent 175 million social gamers who have been waiting for over a year for a Facebook app that brings all the games we love to the iPad. So we're rallying for more games."

The group—dressed in t-shirts with gamer-inspired images such as "missing Farmville"-—briefly gathered at the corner of Mariani Avenue and De Anza Boulevard before dispersing with signs.

"The iSwifter app gives users access to any Flash content on the web," Sharma said. "iSwifter is the world's first cloud-based streaming platform, specifically for mobile devices."

It's got a free trial period and costs about $5 to download.
