The time has come for those eager to scarf down a juicy burger and quench their thirst with a handcrafted beer at Islands Fine Burgers and Drinks when the new restaurant in Cupertino Crossroads officially opens Tuesday at 11 a.m.
Over the weekend there was a “sneak peek” where employees could practice cooking and serving family and friends, says manager Michele Ortega.
Early reviews from at least one diner are good.
“I was able to go to the trial run for the waiting staff and let me tell you their burgers are amazing! Their fries are wonderful as well. They have bottom less fries,” wrote Diana Hansen on Cupertino Patch’s Facebook page.
Other than a banner saying “now open” Ortega says there’s nothing special planned for the grand opening, but there are always specials to enjoy throughout the week at the restaurant located at 20750 Stevens Creek Blvd.
There are late night happy hours from 9 p.m. to close, which is 11 p.m. and appetizers for under $5.
Special drinks—including spiked coffee drinks and tropical drinks—get special prices at special times, Ortega says.
Some of those times include:
Monday and Wednesdays from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and again from 9 p.m.
Monday and Thursday night football from 4 p.m. to close.
Fridays from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Sunday NFL specials from 9 p.m. to close.
People have been calling regularly to find out when the restaurant opens, Ortega says.
“It’s nice to see such a positive response.”
