@Cupertino Has Discounts All Weekend

A discount program @Cupertino designed by teens for teens kicks off Feb. 10 for a weekend of cheap food and fun at Vallco and Marketplace retail centers.

Coming to the rescue of a lackluster retail center comes a high school business club which has organized deals and discounts starting Friday and through this weekend.

It’s all about “Go local, shop local, be local,” said organizer , a 10th grader at Monta Vista High School.

The program @Cupertino, which kicks off Valentine's Day weekend at 3 p.m. at with discounted rentals, was an idea Shailee came up with while interning with Kelly Kline, the city’s former development director. It was developed and carried out through the high school’s DECA Business Organization.

Aimed at getting teens to eat, shop and play in their own city, @Cupertino includes discounts at Vallco and at the Marketplace on Stevens Creek Boulevard between Perimeter Road and N. Portal Avenue, where businesses such as and Beard Papa’s are offering discounts as well.

“We tend to go outside of Cupertino,” Shailee said about teens and their consumer habits.
