11 Ways To Use Cupertino Patch

This site is designed for you, our readers. Find out how you can better use it.

It's a new year Cupertino and although many of you are Cupertino Patch champs, we've got a few tips to make sure you are getting as much out of us as you can.

Here are 11 ways you can use Cupertino Patch to stay informed and inform others.

1. Know before you go.

Wonder if traffic is backed up on Highway 85? Or where you should fill the gas tank before you hit the road? Check our Commute tab at the top of the page before you get stuck in a jam.

2. Add photos any time you like.

Our Pics and Clips at the top of the page is growing with every upload you and your neighbors contribute. Have great shots from the game last night, or wildlife spotted around the Stevens Creek Trail? Maybe you shot a quick video of the rain or the latest farmers' market? Now you can share it with everyone else in town—and it's an easy spot for your family and friends to find it.

3. Tell neighbors about a great shopping or dining experience.

Who better to trust with a review of a business than a neighbor? You can rate businesses—good or bad—by going to their Directory page in the navigational bar above, and sharing your thoughts.

4. Share an opinion.

Comment on stories, add to the conversation. What you think matters, so tell the rest of us what is on your mind.

5. Let us know about a great story.

Did you attend a fantastic robotics event or an exciting soccer game? Maybe you went to dinner at a new place and were blown away. Email us a write-up and a picture or two and we may post it on Cupertino Patch.

6. Blog.

Want to share on a regular basis? Show off your expertise and become a go-to source by becoming a Local Voices blogger. You can sign up and get started right away.

7. Post announcements for free.

The old days of paying a publication to publish a wedding announcement or an obituary are history! Now you can tell the town when you get married, have lost a loved one, a lost pet, have a baby, graduate or make the honor roll.

8. Give us a piece of your mind.

Thank someone or let us know what you think of a topic by submitting a Letter to the Editor via email that we'll publish on the site.

9. Get your news delivered every day.

Sign up for our daily, weekly, and breaking news newsletters and get Cupertino Patch in your email inbox with the latest, freshest news around. Click here to get started now.

10. Get social with us.

We love social media and have a robust community on FacebookTwitter and Instagram. Check us out, share with your family and friends and join the virtual community!

It's difficult to know what's going on in a kid's mind unless they feel confident enough to open upRead More and talk. And this program helps us adults to learn to listen differently.

I too was at this Challenge Day. It was my 6th. I first volunteered because I watched the programRead More on MTV "If You Really Knew Me" when my son was being severely bullied in middle school and saw the program was offered when he was a freshman in high school. My company strongly supports me volunteering for this and allows me to take the day off work to attend. I am continually humbled by what these teens share and saddened at what some of them have experienced in their short lives. This program is so valuable. I think every school should offer it and every parent should attend. It helps us to realize that we need to think twice before we judge or assume things about others when we know nothing about them. It is the volunteering opportunity that I look forward to participating in every year.
