An apparent suicide victim was discovered hanging from a tree Tuesday on the banks of Stevens Creek near Blue Pheasant Bar and Grill, police said.

The victim, a young male adult was pronounced dead shortly after 4 p.m., said Santa Clara County Sheriff’s spokesman Sgt. Jose Cardoza. The man was found with a towel or some kind of covering over his head and face and he was hanging from a tree by wire.

A jacket and other clothing was found nearby, but police have been unable to confirm if it belonged to the victim, Cardoza said.

On one side of the creek where the victim was found is the old Stocklmeir property and the other is a private residence where an older couple could be seen doing yard work while Sheriff’s deputies processed evidence behind their fence. Police confirmed the victim was not the couple’s son.
