Bruno the Foster Dog's First Full Day as Patch Editor Assistant

Bruno had a busy day visiting people in Cupertino, looking for his forever home.

may be tagged as a bit skittish, but he's bold when it comes to snugglin' as we found out our first night with him.

At first he couldn't decide who he wanted to snuggle with more, me or Mike, and he sidled up to us both several times before Mike won the honor. Nestled into the small of Mike's back Bruno curled up and stayed put for the entire night.

As we awoke Bruno made clear his desires for his morning routine; "Here's my belly; rub it," it looked as if he said rolling over on his back between us.

After a little play time with his one-eared bunny, and the usual things such as eating and doing his duty out on the lawn, Foster Mom (me) and Foster Dad (Mike) had to get to work. Bruno's a small dog but at close to 14 pounds when he's sitting upright on your lap, it's not that easy to see a monitor and type. But we managed.

I promised to parade him in Cupertino so first we went to Bitter+Sweet, then around Civic Park, then over to An-Jan Feed & Pet Supply to pick up some irresistible treats. There was some love flowing to the little guy from the staff there. Could one of the ladies become his Forever Mom?

The Cupertino visit must have tuckered out the little guy because he laid down on the passenger seat and grabbed a little shuteye on the way home.

Foster Dad had a little adventure with Bruno while I was taking my MacBook in for repair (for the second time in less than two weeks...hello, Apple?) Foster Dad had to employ his charm to get Bruno to come back to him after escaping between his legs while signing for a package at the front door.

We still don't know what Bruno's voice sounds like, and we're not complaining. He's alert, sometimes playful, and always ready for a massage.

Watch for us in Cupertino, and if you don't happen upon us and want to meet Bruno nose to whisker, just let me know; I'll be happy to make the introduction.

He's available for adoption through Humane Society Silicon Valley. To find out more, contact Casaundra Cruz at 408-262-2133, ext. 183.
