Deadlines to Order Thanksgiving Meals at Cupertino Markets

Several grocery stores offer cooked turkeys—and whole menus—but don't delay, deadlines range from noon Monday to Wednesday.

If the prospect of roasting a turkey in the oven just doesn't appeal this holiday or your kitchen's in disarray, local grocery stores offer variety and ease at Thanksgiving.

Want free-range? Organic and free-range? Chinese-style turkey? Need sides and pie? They've got your Thanksgiving table covered.

Alas, it's too late for Dittmer's smoked turkeys, or A.G. Ferrari's turkey with glorious sides, but there's still time to order via Whole Foods, 99 Ranch, and in nearby Andronico's.

Deadlines are coming up, though, fast (8 p.m. Monday for Whole Foods).

Whole Foods Market Cupertino, 20955 Stevens Creek Blvd., 408-257-7000, open 7 a.m. to 3 p.m on Thanksgiving Day.

Organic Diestel Turkey dinner (8-10 people) with savory herb stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, mashed potatoes, dinner rolls, 9-inch pumpkin pie. $149.99 (smaller or larger dinners available, $79.99 -$279.99, southwest style, ham or goose); order online or in person.

99 Ranch Market, 10983 North Wolfe Rd., 408-532-8899, open 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thanksgiving Day.

Roast Turkey Dinner, (10-12 people) made with Chinese style seasoning (five-spice predominates) with squid and shrimp with sugar pea, sweet and sour pork rib, mushrooms and vegetable, braised Rock Cod, soy sauce chow mein, $138.88 + tax, (two smaller options available, including turkey with one side).

Order by Tuesday, Nov. 20.

Andronico 690 Rancho Shopping Ctr., Los Altos, 650-948-6648

Diestel Turkey dinner (8-10 people) with herb stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry apple chutney, green beans with herb butter, 12 dinner rolls, 9-inch pumpkin pie, $129.99 (There are also turkey-only options, including Mary's free-range and Mary's organic, and a vegan dinner for two).

Order by Wednesday, Nov. 21.

It's difficult to know what's going on in a kid's mind unless they feel confident enough to open upRead More and talk. And this program helps us adults to learn to listen differently.

I too was at this Challenge Day. It was my 6th. I first volunteered because I watched the programRead More on MTV "If You Really Knew Me" when my son was being severely bullied in middle school and saw the program was offered when he was a freshman in high school. My company strongly supports me volunteering for this and allows me to take the day off work to attend. I am continually humbled by what these teens share and saddened at what some of them have experienced in their short lives. This program is so valuable. I think every school should offer it and every parent should attend. It helps us to realize that we need to think twice before we judge or assume things about others when we know nothing about them. It is the volunteering opportunity that I look forward to participating in every year.
