Show Us How YOUR Garden Grows (2 New Photos to Share!)

Spring's got things bloomin'. Share with us how your garden grows.

UPDATE: May 7 at 11 a.m. Two more photos from the Yew family. Such sweet flowers. Thank you for sending more!

May 6: Patch reader, Ken Yew, contributed a couple of beautiful photos of his adorable dog in his garden. My thanks to Ken for sharing! We welcome all your garden photos.

In my tiny garden the bird of paradise is squawking proudly in spite of my neglect, and my hardy geraniums survive as well. My bougainvillea on the other hand must hate me—all I get is a lot of green mean-looking thorns.

No matter, I love gardening. I love going barefoot in the yard—something to which my Mom always said must be indicative to my American Indian roots; she used to say I must have once been an American Indian princess. I guess that's a mother's love there, eh?

Walking about and observing, I pluck a weed here, squash a snail there, and otherwise tend to my sanctuary—my very own yard. I admit I haven't spent nearly the amount of time I normally would in my garden the past year or so; and it shows.

The garden looks neglected. Rose blossoms came very late compared to my neighbors, and my potato vine trees lag as well. Other plants are overgrown and unseemly, and the yard I once knew looks unkempt.

I could use some inspiration, and just the reminder of what Silicon Valley gardens bring us. My Michigan-based Mom LOVES looking at all our blossoms here in California, so if you won't share photos of your garden with me, please do it for my Mom. Anyone who's ever met her will tell you she's about the nicest lady you could ever meet. So c'mon, help me make MY mom happy for Mother's Day.

Show us your blooms...please?!

It's easy, just take a photo and upload here on Cupertino Patch. If you encounter any problems uploading, no worries, send 'em to me at anne.ernst@patch.com. My Mom will appreciate it. ;)
