Recent Cupertino Area Deaths

 

Here are links to recent obituaries for people who lived or worked in Cupertino or had other ties to the city.

  • Bonnie Sayre, age 75, April 5
    Bonnie was a model from age 5 through her teen years, then danced and sang in vaudeville and entertained at veterans’ hospitals after WWII. She had a career in culinary and ran the first café for the Tech Museum of Innovation in San Jose.
  • Mary Tuck, age 87, March 23
    Mary was an elementary School teacher in Mountain View for 25 years. In her retirement years she enjoyed painting, traveling and gardening. She was a member of the Cupertino Senior Center, Delta Kappa Gamma Society International and the California Retired Teachers Association.
  • Mildred Vierra, age 92, April 2
    Mildred was born in Santa Clara to Bartual and Julia Petric and raised on the family farm in Cupertino. After graduating from Fremont High School, she married George Vierra and settled in the Cambrian Park area of San Jose to raise a family. She was a past member of the Cupertino Historical Society, Fremont High School Alumni Association and Yugoslav Naperdak Club.
  • John (Jack) Waters, age 93, April 4
    John was a retired engineer from Lockheed and a longtime Cupertino resident. He is survived by his wife Edith Waters and a large and loving family. He was active in Bedouins Motor Home Club and West Valley Presbyterian Church.
