Online Tool Glitch Grounds American Airlines Flights

Officials expect flights to resume this afternoon.

 

American Airlines has grounded all its flights nationwide until 2 p.m. Pacific time Monday. 

A notice posted on its website reads: “American’s network system is experiencing intermittent outages. At this time, we are in a system-wide ground delay that will last until 4:00pm CST as we work to resolve this issue as quickly as we can. We apologize to our customers for any inconvenience.”

The airline previously reported it was experiencing problems with its online reservations and booking tool resulting in intermittent outages.

 American serves about 275,000 passengers each day.
