SFO to East Coast Flights Cancelled Due to Weather

San Francisco Airport cancels flights heading to Newark, Kennedy and Logan airports.

The anticipation of stormy weather on the East Coast has resulted in 55 flight cancellations at San Francisco International Airport this morning, a duty manager said.

As of 4:30 a.m., 38 departures and 17 arrivals have been canceled at SFO, airport duty manager John Ginty said.

Flights heading to Newark Liberty International Airport, John F. Kennedy International Airport and Logan International Airport have been impacted the most so far.

Flights heading into Philadelphia this morning may be delayed between 30 to 60 minutes, Ginty said.

Many flights have been cancelled in advance of the storm so that air transportation can recover more quickly following the storm, Ginty said.
