What to Do In Cupertino This Weekend

It's near the end of the work week and you're about ready to do the weekend happy dance. What better time to look ahead and plan your weekend with fun and interesting activities.

  1. FARMER’S MARKET

    Where/When: Cupertino Square, 10123 N. Wolfe Road, Cupertino; Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Sears Parking lot.

    Why go: Find a wide selection of locally-grown fresh seasonal vegetables, pesto, honey, baked goods, eggs and more. 408-777-3081.

  2. E-WASTE AND USED CLOTHING DRIVE

    Where/When: Whole Foods Markets, 20955 Stevens Creek Blvd., Cupertino; Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

    Why go: Take an opportunity to clean out your garage and closets of unused clothing and electronic items including televisions, printers, computer monitors, VCRs and old cell phones. Your tax deductable donation will help HOPE Services assist people with developmental disabilities. 408-761-5156.

  3. SILICON VALLEY READS

    Where/When: Cupertino Community Hall, 10350 Torre Ave., Cupertino; Saturday at 1:30 p.m.

    Why go: Enjoy a conversation with featured authors Brian Castner and Sue Diaz who will discuss their books and the share details about the Silicon Valley Reads experience. The program will be moderated by De Anza College President Brian Murphy. 408-447-1677.

  4. POET LAUREATE

    Where/When: Cupertino Community Hall, 10350 Torre Ave., Cupertino; Sunday at 2 p.m.

    Why go: In recognition of National Poetry Month, Cupertino Poet Laureate David Denny will host a program, “Poetry 101: A Free Public Lecture.” Denny will discuss the art of poetry, what poetry is, how it works and why it’s important in society.

    Price: Free.
