Youth Volleyball Leagues Forming in Cupertino

Games will be played at the Civic Center Library Field starting Sept. 12.

Even though the summer break from school is over for many young people in Cupertino, there’s still plenty of time for outdoor exercise and fun.

New volleyball leagues are forming now in Cupertino for children of all ages and skill levels. The leagues are sponsored by the United States Youth Volleyball League, which is accepting registrations through Sept. 1.

Teams will be co-ed, and divided into age categories, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, and 13-15. The league will play 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays, and 10 to 11 a.m. Saturdays at the Cupertino Civic Center Library Field, 10330 Torre Avenue.

The league season will start Sept. 12 and continue through Nov. 3.

Every child who is registered in the league will play each week. The registration fee is $185 and multiple child discount rates are available. Players who are not Cupertino residents are subject to an additional $66 fee. The price includes a volleyball, uniform and an individual USYVL award for each player.

Registrations forms can be downloaded from the USYVL website at www.usyvl.org or can be requested by mail or fax by calling 1-888-988-7985.
