Cupertino's Citywide Garage Sale

Thousands of treasures are awaiting shoppers at Cupertino’s Citywide Garage Sale on Saturday, September 21 & Sunday, September 22, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Collectibles, furniture, baby clothes, household items-you name it, and chances are, someone will be selling it.  More than 400 individual and group sales will be held at individual homes throughout Cupertino, making it a shoppers’ paradise

How do shoppers find these treasures?  Starting Wednesday, September 18, a detailed list and map of all registered sales will be published on the City’s website, and printed copies will be available at the Cupertino Library, City Hall, the Cupertino Senior Center, and the Quinlan Community Center.

Information about the garage sale can be found on the City’s website at www.cupertino.org/garagesale or by calling the Public Works Department at (408) 777-3354.

The City of Cupertino hosts this event to encourage the sale of reusable items rather than discarding them into the landfill.  “This project is a good way of bringing solid waste and recycling issues right into people’s homes with an emphasis on reuse and giving rather than throwing away.

The event is a win-win-win all around.  Shoppers like the adventure of seeking treasures and bargains.  Sellers like the extra cash and freed-up living space.  The environment benefits from reduced waste.  Perhaps one of the most valuable aspects is how well the event fosters a strong sense of community spirit.  “People enjoy the opportunity to get acquainted with neighbors, build community trust, and spend quality time with family members.

Join the fun, and shop in Cupertino on September 21 & 22!
