International touring artists Big Wide Room will be featured in a Saturday Night Coffee House performance. Doors open at 6:30PM. Tea and coffee will be served. The public is invited to come early to for mingle and seating.
A vocal group that comes by its California-sound honestly, Big Wide Room is the triple-threat of California-born veteran performing songwriters Mark Davis, Brett Perkins and David Zink. Formed as a band over a decade ago in Los Angeles, they present co-written folk-rock and Americana songs with interwoven harmonies supported by guitars and percussion - a sound which has drawn comparisons by the press to Crosby, Stills & Nash, Counting Crows, Crowded House and The Beatles.
A typical trio performance starts with brief solo sets by each of the three artists, highlighting the strength of their individual craft as well as their distinct differences. Part of the evening's magic is how those differences contribute to the amazing chemistry of the combo. Audiences regularly describe this fusion of talents as "awesome...greater than the sum of the parts..."
The group tours internationally. To promote last year's EP “Looking Back”, they logged dozens of performances in 5 countries, including Denmark, Sweden, Ireland and Germany. The current tour promotes the release of their first full album, “Infinite Distance”.
Trio member David Zink, a former member of The New Christy Minstrels, has a number of solo albums and film roles to his credit, and pursues an active career as a solo performer.
Mark Davis' album “You Came Screaming” was voted Orange County's “Album of the Decade” by the Los Angeles Times.
Brett Perkins has several albums to his credit, with major film and TV placements, and also leads The Listening Room Songwriter Retreats in six countries annually.
