Fr. Michael Lapsley, Director of Institute for Healing of Memories, presents “Listening with the Heart”

Healing begins with listening to others as they
tell their stories of hurt. Fr Michael Lapsley will share stories from his
experience with the Institute for Healing of Memories and doing the deep
work of listening.  www.saintjudes.org

Fr. Michael will present a series

of talks about conversations and healing in Cupertino.  Fr. Michael

is an Anglican priest from South Africa, who was injured in a letter bomb in

1990, losing both arms and an eye. He recovered from extensive surgery and

founded the Institute for the Healing of Memories. He’s worked extensively in

South Africa and internationally, including Rwanda, Bosnia, Serbia, East Timor,

and also works in the USA with war veterans.  He was recently elected

one of the Vice Presidents of the South African Council of Churches.  Here

are other Cupertino events:

Sunday, May 25 – “Courageous Conversations”: How

do we talk and listen to those who have hurt us or those who have been

hurt by us, when those experiences trigger strong emotions and reactions?

Fr. Michael Lapsley will explore these issues in conversation and Q&A,

drawing from his work with the Institute for Healing of Memories. (St. Jude's Episcopal Church Parish Hall. Childcare provided; www.saintjudes.org.  Come early for the 8:00 am church service or stay for the 10:30

am service.)
