The Rev. Paul Jeffrey is a United Methodist missionary
photojournalist who travels the world covering disasters, poverty and war. He has
filed stories from more than 75 countries, writing about everything from
hurricanes to health care, from massacres to indigenous rights, from refugees
to ecumenism.
In addition to United Methodist
publications, Paul's writing has appeared in magazines such as the Christian
Century and the National Catholic Reporter. He is the author of a book about
the Guatemalan peace process, has written chapters for two different books on
Central America, and is coauthor of a study of the effects of Hurricane Mitch
on the political culture of Honduras. He is coauthor of Where Mercy Fails,
a 2009 book on the Darfur region of Sudan, and also of Rubble Nation, a
2011 book on Haiti.
