Volunteer for the Palo Alto Young Tree Care Survey!

Annual Survey of Young Street Trees

Young trees require extra care, especially regular watering, to ensure their survival in the tough urban environment. Each year, Canopy volunteers and partners comb through Palo Alto neighborhoods to survey the health of hundreds of young street trees.

This is a fun, flexible volunteer opportunity for all ages--and a great way to learn your local trees!

Join a 30-minute training followed by 2-3 hours of surveying on either (or both!) survey dates:

  • Saturday, July 19th, 9am - 12pm - Meet at the corner of Embarcadero Road and Cowper Street (near Gamble Garden) in Palo Alto

  • Wednesday, July 23rd, 6-8:30pm - Meet at Heritage Park - 300 Homer Avenue, Palo Alto

After you have attended one of these training sessions, you are also welcome to complete additional surveys on your own or with friends.
