What's Inside? CSMA's Art4Schools Student & Faculty Art Show at MV City Hall Rotunda
Join us on Friday, February 7 from 3-6 pm at the opening receptionof the annual Student & Faculty Art Show. Over 300 works of art by students and teachers from Community School of Music and Arts' Art4Schools Program will be on display at Mountain View City Hall Rotunda.
Work by K-8 students & teachers from 17 local schools, including each elementary school in the Mountain View Whisman School District (Bubb, Castro, Huff, Landels, Monta Loma,Stevenson, Theuerkauf), as well as The Academy (Oak Grove School District), Baywood School (San Mateo-Foster City School District), John Gill School and Roosevelt School(Redwood City School District), Lyndale School (Alum Rock School District), Montclaire School and Murdock-Portal School(Cupertino Union School District), Resurrection School (Sunnyvale), Springer School (Los Altos School District) and St. Nicholas School (Los Altos Hills). All students receive weekly art instruction through CSMA’s in-school art education program, Art4Schools.
To develop the show artwork, teachers created pieces based on the What’s Inside? theme. That artwork inspired classroom lessons with many different media, from watercolor self portraits with original poetry to 3D boxes that show a surprisingly magical world inside them. The show is generously sponsored by the City of Mountain View, which lends its beautiful rotunda space to this exhibition annually.
