Faces of Rotary: Larry Dean

How many of you can say you have ridden across the United States on a bicycle? Larry can. He's also ridden across Europe, Oregon, Iowa and almost daily rides around our area.

Many of you know Larry through his community work with The Rotary Club of Cupertino as this past year’s Club President, a Board member and past president of CEEF (the Cupertino Educational Endowment Foundation), the Northwest YMCA and the Northern California Marshall Partners, USC Marshall School of Business where he received his MBA.

However, how many of you know that Larry is a long-time rock ‘n roller from his high school and college days and now the bass guitarist for the Grateful Dads, a local trio band appearing for charity events and frequently for an Italian restaurant in Mountain View?

Married to his “better-known half”, Laurie, he has two daughters—Emily and Courtney—who followed the USC tradition. They have lived in Cupertino since 1980. He is currently engaged in high technology business development.

How many of you can say you have ridden across the United States on a bicycle?  Larry can, and he has ridden across Europe, Oregon, Iowa and does almost daily rides around our area. In fact, if you watch closely you may see him riding around town for coffee, to attend various local community meetings and to pick up some milk.

Stay committed to the community Larry, we need an army like you to keep the complexities of this Valley and Cupertino on track.
