Take a Hike!

There are many amazing tails right in the backyard of Cupertino. They are easy to get to and full of wildlife, views, and aromas and much more for your enjoyment.

The weather in Cupertino and the Bay Area has been just amazing for the last several weeks.  If you're bored take to the mountains and the many trails right in our backyard. I'm not necessarily talking about the overly popular Rancho San Antonio either, there are miles of other trails virtually uninhabited by hikers.

Today I walked the Stevens Creek / Tony Look Trail on the east side of the Reservoir. There is a trail-head just past the bridge at the end of the Reservoir with limited parking. From the trail-head to the Look it is a little over 2 miles; so, that makes it between 4 to 4.5 miles round trip. The trail is well marked and maintained, a fairly easy trail for beginners and some nice views with a good resting place for those who want to enjoy a very peaceful moment/meditation (Joyce's Bench).  Click Here for more information and a down-loadable map.

Another fun option with shorter hikes is the Zinfandel Trail.  A good place to park is the Picchetti Winery and after the walk maybe a little wine tasting for those who earned a little reprieve.
