AADP Bone Marrow Donor Drive

In July 2011, Jack Chin was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia about six months ago. Today, he desperately needs a bone marrow transplant in order to survive. Will you help?

WHO IS JACK?

Jack Chin is a UCLA student (2007-2011) and Monta Vista High School alum (Class of 2007).

The facts:
- Jack is Taiwanese/ Chinese.  His matching donor is most likely to be the same ethnicity.
-His family's bone marrow, including his twin brother's, was not a match
-He is 23 years old, and had no family history of leukemia. This came out of nowhere. It could have been any of us
-Registering for bone marrow involves a simple cheek swab. The procedure for donating marrow is now similar to donating blood (NO drills or anything)

HOW CAN I HELP JACK and other 10,000 searching patients?

- Be between the age of 18 to 60
- Fill out a consent form
- Provide cheek swab sample
- You will be listed on the National Registry until you turn 61 years old.  You might be a match to Jack or any other patients who's waiting for your help.
