Cupertino’s Rolling Hills 4H Club may have only one phrase rolling in its collective mind the next few days: Lambs and goats and pigs, oh my!
The club, which is based at , is showing its lambs, goats and pigs at the annual . Starting at 10 a.m. Friday, children from the club will show off their dairy goats.
The showmanship competition gives students the opportunity to be judged on how well they handle and care for their goats, says Gabbi Crum of Sunnyvale.
On Saturday at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., and again on Sunday at 4 p.m. 4H’ers will demonstrate pack goats on an obstacle-course set up to simulate a hike where the children and goats will traverse over such things as a water hazard or a fallen tree.
According to its website, the Rolling Hills of Cupertino 4-H Club was founded in October 1971 and is a part of the Santa Clara County 4-H program within the University of California 4-H Youth Development Program. It primarily serves the cities of Cupertino, Sunnyvale, Los Altos, Mountain View, and Campbell.
