That big hole in the ground at N. De Anza Boulevard and Alves Drive belongs to what will become a high-end luxury hotel in about 18 months. Right now, it’s just dirt, but that will eventually become the hotel basement and parking garage.
The hotel was slated to be a Hyatt Hotel, but an anonymous source says it may be run under the Starwood Hotel chain’s Aloft Hotels brand, which uses the catch line, “style for a steal.”
Concrete for the basement and parking area will most like be poured in the next week or two, one worker said.
The hotel is planned for 90,000 square feet with 150 guest rooms and suites, 6,000 square feet of high-tech conference space, an executive board room, fitness center, pool, sauna, and spa.
