Arnie Visits Where 'The Sound of Music' Was Filmed

Arnie's Vacation!

Here's our stop in St. Wolfgang, Austria which is located in what is called the Salzkammergut (Estate of the Salt Chamber) which is like the French Riviera...but in Austria. There is a big lake called Wolfgangsee (wolf-gong-say) that is very pretty to look at in May but is a little too cold to swim in especially since there was snow at eye level a week before we got there.

Laura especially like this area because this just happened to be where the musical Sound of Music was filmed. Primary filming took place here in the Salzkammergut and Salzburg. It was kind of boring for us guys because we wanted to continue walking up the trails of Schafberg (sheep mountain) to get to the summit but Laura insisted on dancing and singing the opening scene to the movie. Maybe we should have listened to Harold and taken the Schafbergbahn to the top. While he was enjoying his Currywurst and fries with his Spetzi we had to endure listening to Laura singing "Climb Every Mountain" and then a sing along to "Do-Re-Mi"! Seriously why did she always have to walk backwards when singing at certain points of the song?! AAAAAAAAAAAAH!
