My Vote, Our Future's Video Contest Winners Announced!

A horror movie, set on November 7, 2012. A quirky appearance by a civic-minded Frank Sinatra-like figure. A popular song and horsey dance. These were some of the finalists who made it to the winner's circle in the My Vote, Our Future GOTV video contest.

It took over 35,000 public votes, several judges (two of whom are stars of the popular tv show GLEE), the My Vote, Our Future team, and key non-partisan citizen engagement co-sponsors Asian Pacific Islander American Vote (APIAVote) and "Latino Instigators" at Cuentame...but we finally have a Grand Prize winner and a First, Second and Honorable Mention winners! Plus, we have a secret celebrity appearance in one of the videos by a distinguished civil rights hero and Congressperson. You'll have to watch the videos to figure out where this person appears. That particular video also appeared on a popular MSNBC weekend political talk show.

The 60-second long videos are on the MVOF Youtube Channel and we'll be promoting them at all our media partners right up until election day, November 6, 2012. On the Youtube Channel, we also have eight 30-second GOTV public service announcements in different languages that you may have seen on KTSF or Univision this fall.

We found all the videos submitted motivating and we hope the young filmmakers who created them will go on to do more funny and inpiring work. Til then, see you at the polls!
