Day to Night Valentine's Outfit Ideas

Since this Valentine's Day will be a weekday, Patch contributor Crystal Tai presents ideas of day-to-night Valentine's ensembles for college girls, working ladies, and homemakers.

It's time to think about what to wear on the upcoming Valentine's Day. A fancy, puffy dress resembling the paper frock shown on the left in the photo is pretty but not practical because this year the occasion will be on a weekday, which may not give you enough time to change before dinner.

The long-sleeved red dress on the right in the photo (which I wore for the first Valentine's dinner of my life) is something that can work from day to night, but it takes daring youth to pull off so much red in a form-fitting cut.

Body-conscious women usually prefer wearing black on dates, including Valentine's dinner date. However, since pink and red are Valentine's themed colors, let's add some pink or red to the basic black.

We will start with a black tank top, which exists in almost every woman's closet, to put together a Valentine's day-to-night ensemble for a college girl, a working lady, and a homemaker. These tips can work for you even if you don't have a date this Valentine's Day and will just go out with your girlfriends. With or without a date, the holiday of love should be at least about loving yourself, which can start with making yourself look your best.

It's difficult to know what's going on in a kid's mind unless they feel confident enough to open upRead More and talk. And this program helps us adults to learn to listen differently.

I too was at this Challenge Day. It was my 6th. I first volunteered because I watched the programRead More on MTV "If You Really Knew Me" when my son was being severely bullied in middle school and saw the program was offered when he was a freshman in high school. My company strongly supports me volunteering for this and allows me to take the day off work to attend. I am continually humbled by what these teens share and saddened at what some of them have experienced in their short lives. This program is so valuable. I think every school should offer it and every parent should attend. It helps us to realize that we need to think twice before we judge or assume things about others when we know nothing about them. It is the volunteering opportunity that I look forward to participating in every year.
