Flattering Colored Jeans

Patch contributor Crystal Tai offers tips on how to pick flattering jeans, including this year's fashionable colored jeans.

Bright-colored jeans are in this year, and will stay next year. They are in stores everywhere. However, I've seen few women wearing them. I've been wondering why many women are skipping this trend, and here's my observation:

Most bright-colored jeans make the hips look larger. No women want to look heavier than they are, so they would rather forget about the cute colors and stick to their old dark jeans. 


If this is what makes you hesitate about bright-colored jeans, think again---in fact, the bright colors aren't the problem; the real culprit is the cut of those jeans. This year's jeans go for the shape of leggings, so the bright-colored jeans you see in the mall are probably all skin-tight. Bright colors ONLY have an expanding visual effect when they show up as your second skin...
