I love belts, but not necessarily on trench coats. Belted trench coats look great on models, like the Burberry trench coat in the photo I took at Stanford Shopping Center. They are models though, and they probably wear nearly nothing inside to keep their trench coats looking smooth. We, on the other hand, may layer a trench coat over a thick sweater. In that case, to avoid bulkiness, it's better to let the trench coat loose...
